Executive Bio:
Oscar Castro is a senior executive whose career spans more than two decades in senior leadership roles with Fortune 500 companies, including Dollar Tree, Big Lots, Pier 1, 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, and Sears Holdings. Throughout these roles, he drove digital transformation, strengthened brand engagement, and built high-performing teams that deliver measurable growth and improved customer experiences.
Oscar currently serves as Vice President of Marketing at ECPI University, leading the institution’s marketing strategy and brand vision. He oversees digital, traditional, and institutional communications, and is focused on expanding awareness of ECPI’s career-focused education model. In this role, he brings strategic and operational experience to the work of supporting student success and strengthening partnerships across marketing, admissions, and business development.
Before joining ECPI, Oscar served as Sr. Vice President, Digital & eCommerce at Dollar Tree Inc., where he was responsible for leading the digital transformation for Dollar Tree and Family Dollar. Since joining the company in 2020, Oscar built an enterprise digital organization, overhauled digital marketing and improved the customer experience, resulting in high double-digit revenue growth. He also served on the company’s DEI Executive Council since its inception in 2020.
Prior to Dollar Tree, Oscar was Sr. Vice President of eCommerce at Pier1. He joined to help the company through a chapter 11 restructuring, during the COVID-19 pandemic. Ultimately, the company was liquidated due to cashflow constraints.
Prior to Pier1, Oscar was Vice President, E-Commerce at Harry & David (a 1-800-FLOWERS.COM brand), where he accelerated the company’s digital transformation. While there, Oscar led efforts to improve the online shopping experience, drive profitable marketing growth and improve e-commerce business operations. This resulted in consistent double-digit growth for more than 3 years. He also served on the company’s DEI Advisory Committee, focusing on attracting and developing diverse talent.
Before that, Oscar was Vice President, eCommerce at Big Lots. In that role, he developed a strategic omnichannel roadmap, built the digital team, and led the launch of Big Lots’ e-commerce business. He was also responsible for enterprise customer service, where we introduced voice of customer measurement and optimized training and staffing.
Oscar also served as Divisional Vice President, eCommerce for Sears Holdings. In that position he led omnichannel integration efforts between Sears & Kmart's websites and almost 3,000 stores (>$1.5 Billion revenue). Additionally, he led several online businesses including International eCommerce, Home Services, B2B and DIY Parts.
Earlier in his career, Oscar held financial roles at several Fortune 500 organizations including ServiceMaster, MetLife and CNA Financial. Oscar earned an MBA from Dominican University and a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Saint Xavier University.
